You know the old saying: while the cat is away the mice will play! By “cat” I mean Laven, and by “play” I mean talk about Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure! Just as the obsession is starting to wane, Jack finally finds someone to talk with about Araki’s gift to mankind. This person is… Willis?! Although he has only just finished the sixth part of Jojo, he is more than happy to make a triumphant return to the Anibros fold!
Not pictured: Vampire Jojo, Mafia Jojo, Inmate Jojo.
The conversation weaves from Phantom Blood through Stone Ocean and everything in between, so minor spoilers for those parts.
Heads up! Not only are we back to give our predictions on the anime of Summer 2015, but 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis returns from his sabbatical to join us! Revel as we exchange what we’ve been watching, announce the best show of last season, and grill the then-upcoming series of this Summer!
The season of depravity starts now.
What shows are YOOOU gonna watch? Leave a comment below to be entered in our drawing!
Apologies for the break there, but we’re back once again to talk about a real swell anime called Kino’s Journey. Just like in her travels, we venture through many unique territories and meet many strange people in this episode, including schoolgirls, giant robots, and the President of the United States.
Kino provides the balance, Hermes provides the speed, and together they can go anywhere they wish.
Also in this issue: Willis makes a life-changing decision.
Welcome to the post for this Anibros podcast. On this episode we talk about anime and make jokes. We set out to discuss Hyouka but spend a lot of time talking about all the anime we’ve been watching, including hits from Spring/Summer 2014 such as the new Sailor Moon that was all the rage. Hell, we even touch on Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team for some reason or another.
Chitanda turned down our request to come on the show.
We want to know what you’re watching too! The great thing about anime isn’t watching it, it’s showing everyone online that you did.
Just as the snow melts and the plants bloom once again, one season of anime ends and another begins. What was great? What was terrible? What was worth watching? What was a waste of time? The Anibros are here to provide a guiding light so that you don’t lose your way.
Now that I think about it I’m not sure where she kept getting motorcycles.
We also take a peek at which airing shows we’re looking forward to this Spring. Let us know if you run across something good.
Turns out we had a previously silent majority that vehemently dislikes the Riffcast format, so that plan has been nixed. Thanks for your feedback! Besides, it takes a lot longer to upload a video file than an audio file on dial-up.
ANYWAY to round everything out the crew watched and reviewed the first episode of Saki, a show about cute girls playing mahjong. Just how much drama can be squeezed out of these simple tiles?
Special moves are EVERYTHING in mahjong.
Hit us up if you want to play a match, I’ve been devising an autumn-flavored north wind two-headed dragon orchid strategy that I want to test out.
Welcome to the first episode of the new Anibros format! We’ve consistently received overwhelming positive feedback about the episodes in which we watch bad anime and riff on it; you have made it clear that these are your favorite kind of episodes by far. We’ve listened and are now proud to present you the first episode of the new Anibros RiffCast™ for FREE!
This week we riff on Cipher, a romance/shoujo OVA from 1989.
We spent quite a bit of our personal funds to purchase the rights from Kenny Loggins in order to distribute this video, so future episodes of the Anibros RiffCast™ will be available to subscribers only. Subscriptions are $3.99 per person and when we get enough money to buy the rights to the next anime we’ll record the RiffCast™ and email you the video!
This time on the podcast we watch and review the first episode of Walkure Romanze. Sadly we discover that the sport we thought we invented already exists in the form of “jousting” and has apparently been practiced since the Middle Ages. You can’t ever say anime never taught us anything! The only problem now is figuring out what to do with all of these Horseback Stick Pokey uniforms…
The supreme court will now hear the case of Tights v. Socks
The next episode will be a very special one, be prepared. I’m serious, keep your eyes peeled for it.
As soon as the Anibros had all returned safely home and convened in one room they turned on the television and picked up their microphones, all in order to watch and review the first episode of Recently My Sister is Unusual. How unusual, you ask? The answer is something that must be heard to be believed.
Can you pick out the kooky one?
As is the norm, this is the first part in a series, so check back every day for a new episode. Or subscribe.
This week the Anibros FLY AWAY with Miyazaki’s latest film The Wind Rises. Thanks to the power of Disney the movie was given a domestic theatrical release and dubbed into our mother tongue. We grabbed the popcorn and watched yet another cartoon on the big screen!
The Wright brothers ain’t got nothing on me.
Thanks for listening, and if you’ve got something to say to our face keep commenting/mailing us.
